Size & fit
Which size should I order?
Samelin shoes run large. The rule of thumb: order one size smaller than your Nike or Adidas size. Still not quite the right fit? You have a statutory 14 days to return your order.
Do the boots need to be broken in?
Yes, as with all boots made of thick full-grain leather, breaking in can take a while — expect a few days to a few weeks of daily wear. After that the leather shapes to your foot and you have a shoe that lasts for years. This is normal for genuine leather of this thickness and actually a sign of quality.
My size is sold out. What now?
Click your sold-out size on the product page and leave your email address — we will automatically send you a message as soon as the size is back in stock.
Shipping & delivery
How quickly will my order be delivered?
After dispatch, your order is usually delivered within 4 to 8 business days. As soon as your package is on its way, you automatically receive a Track & Trace code.
What are the shipping costs?
To most European countries — including the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany — shipping is free from €50. For orders below that we charge a small fee. You always see the exact amount at checkout, before you pay. You can find more details in our shipping policy.
Returns & warranty
Can I return my order?
Yes, you have 14 days from the moment you receive your order. Register your return via the withdrawal form or contact us. As soon as we have received and checked the return, we refund you. The full conditions are in our return policy.
The size doesn't fit. What now?
This happens more often with boots that run large. You return the order within the 14-day withdrawal period and simply order the right size again. In our return policy you can read how that works and which return costs apply.
What warranty do I get?
All Samelin shoes are covered by the statutory warranty: if you have a manufacturing or material defect, we will resolve it. Samelin produces to the military quality standards NATO AQAP 2110 and ISO 9001 — the same standard that applies to army orders.

About the products
Are these real military boots?
Yes. Samelin has made shoes in Tartu, Estonia, since 1945 and has produced military boots for several NATO forces since 2017 — including the Norwegian, Latvian and Estonian armies. The best known is the M77, which is even mentioned on the Wikipedia page about combat boots. Every boot in our collection is made to that same military quality standard.
How do I care for my boots?
Full-grain leather is easy to maintain: wipe the boots clean regularly with a damp cloth and treat the leather a few times a year with a care product for full-grain leather (leather grease or wax). If you use them a lot in wet weather, treat them more often with a water-repellent product. Well maintained, these boots last for years.
Where are the shoes made?
All shoes are made in the Samelin factory in Tartu, Estonia — in Europe, that is.
