Size Guide — what size combat boots should you order?

Choosing the right size is easy. Samelin boots have a sturdy, comfortable last that's designed to be worn comfortably with socks too. Because of this, your size may differ slightly per model from your usual sneaker size. Using your foot length and the model advice below, you'll pick the size that fits you best in just a few minutes.

1. How to measure your foot length

  1. Preferably stand at the end of the day on a sheet of paper against a wall, with your heel against the wall.
  2. Mark the tip of your longest toe.
  3. Measure the distance from the wall to the mark in centimeters.
  4. Do this for both feet and use the longer of the two as your starting point.
  5. Look up your measured length in the table below.

2. Check your foot length in the size chart

When choosing your size, rely mainly on your foot length. This gives you a more reliable starting point than going by your usual sneaker size alone.

EU UK US (men's) Foot length
36 3.5 4.5 22.9 cm
37 4 5 23.5 cm
38 5 6 24.1 cm
39 5.5 6.5 24.8 cm
40 6.5 7.5 25.4 cm
41 7 8 26.0 cm
42 8 9 26.7 cm
43 9 10 27.3 cm
44 9.5 10.5 27.9 cm
45 10.5 11.5 28.6 cm
46 11 12 29.2 cm
47 12 13 29.8 cm
48 13 14 30.5 cm

3. Which model fits your size?

Each model has a slightly different fit. Use this as a supplement to your measured foot length:

  • M77 Combat Boots — has a roomy, sturdy last. If you wear the boots with regular socks, many customers choose a size smaller than their usual sneaker size.
  • Aviator / Pilot Boots — has a slightly slimmer fit and sits closer to the foot as a result.
  • Hiking Boots — has the most familiar fit within the collection and comes closest to your usual shoe size.

To be safe, always check the specific size advice on the product page of the model you're interested in.

Why might your size differ from your sneaker size?

Samelin boots are built for intensive use and have a sturdy last designed to sit comfortably even with thicker socks. On some models this gives slightly more room than you're used to from a sneaker. That's why the recommended size can differ from your normal sneaker size — that's not a flaw, but a deliberate design choice for long-lasting, comfortable wear.

Tips for a good fit

  • Measure both feet and use the longer foot.
  • Preferably measure at the end of the day.
  • Wear the socks you'd normally wear with the boots when trying them on.
  • Have wide feet? Keep that in mind when choosing your size.
  • Always check the specific size advice on the product page.

Still unsure after trying them on? Our return policy makes exchanging easy.
